NEWS RELEASE ALS Staveley Adds RULER® to Varnish Potential Test Package ALS Staveley Services continues to expand its industrial and power generation lubricant analysis services with the application of the RULER® (Remaining Useful Life Evaluation Routine). The RULER® is technically referred to as Linear Sweep Voltammetry and is used for the measurement of hindered phenolic and aromatic amine antioxidant content. The test has received wide recognition for its complementary significance to varnish potential analysis and provides valuable information for monitoring the service life of industrial oil and power generation lubricants. Hindered phenols and aromatic amines are primary antioxidants used in many industrial oil and zinc-free turbine oil applications. By measuring the depletion and available reactivity of these antioxidant compounds while conducting other routine performance tests, the service life of used lubricants can be effectively monitored.
